Drip Coffee

This is just the typical cup of coffee you can get from coffee shops, gas stations, diners, ect. in America. It is similar to what you may brew at home.

Espresso

Definition: a concentrated beverage brewed by forcing a small amount of hot water under pressure through finely ground coffee beans.

Espresso is made with special espresso beans. Usually espresso is in “shots” where the more “shots” of espresso you have, the more caffeine content there is. The larger the drink the more shots of espresso there are. Example 12oz is 1 shot, 16 oz is 2 shots, 20 oz is 3 shots etc… Espresso is usually added to steamed milk or water or vice versa, which will be covered below.

Café Latte

Definition: A latte is a coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk.

A popular drink, mostly used with steamed milk and a variety of syrups and flavors can be added. There is a small amount of steamed milk on the top. Lots of varieties available with lattes, especially seasonal like Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint.

Vince recommends: “If you want a sweeter drink,  you can choose from a variety of syrups!”

Cappuccino

Definition A cappuccino is an Italian coffee drink which is traditionally prepared with espresso, steamed milk, and       steamed-milk foam.

A cappuccino typically has less steamed milk and more foamed milk on top than a latte.

Vince Recommends: “If you’re a fan of more foam get a Cappuccino, less foam get a latte.”

Americano

Vince Recommends: “Three shot americano starts the day off right!”

Macchiato

Definition: pronounced “mah-key-ah-toh,” literally means “marked”  in Italian, it is espresso  “marked” with a dash of   frothy steamed milk.

Typically it comes in the form of Caramel Macchiato, made popular by starbucks. This heavenly drink consists of typical macchiato stature made in this order: add caramel syrup, then steamed milk, milk froth, now add your shots of espresso and top with caramel sauce.

Vince Recommends: “If you would like less calories in your drink use skim milk instead of whole!”

Café Mocha

Definition: Chocolate sauce, espresso, and steamed milk, all while  topped with whipped cream.

Just like a latte but with added chocolate sauce which pairs well with coffee.

Vince Recommends: “Add raspberry syrup to a Cafe Mocha for an awesome flavor experience.”
